It was said to be able to cure various ailments, enhance fertility, and even bring good luck. One well-known belief surrounding mandragore was that the root of the plant resembled a human figure and that it emitted a deadly scream when pulled from the ground. Mandragore was believed to possess magical properties, and its roots were highly sought after for their supposed medicinal and mystical qualities. Legends surrounding the plant often depicted it as a powerful talisman, capable of bringing good fortune, fertility, and protection against evil spirits.
